Grand Rapids Michigan has a lot to offer. Since its establishment in 1826 as a trading post by Louis Campu, Grand Rapids has been a cultural center for the area. Today, the Grand Rapids has its own Baseball, Hockey, and Arena Football Teams. View Down Monroe Ave.Grand Rapids is no stranger when it comes to the finer things in life…cultural offerings include Broadway shows, community theatrical performances (Civic Theatre and Circle Theatre), ballets, Opera and the Grand Rapids Symphony.

The city has a wide variety of museums and other attractions to offer. Grand Rapids is home to the Gerald R. Ford Museum, Public Museum of Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Art Museum, John Ball Park Zoo, and The Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. The Grand Rapids Public Library also has its main branch located downtown and smaller satellite libraries scattered throughout the city.

Not only is Grand Rapids known as the cultural capital of Western Michigan, it is also the office furniture capitol of the world. Steelcase Office Furniture is headquartered in Grand Rapids along with countless other world leading industries.

The city is no stranger to higher education either…Grand Rapids is home to Aquinas College, Calvin College, Grand Rapids Community College, Cornerstone University, Davenport University, and Kuyper College.

No matter how you look at it, Grand Rapids is not your everyday city. There is something here for everyone.
